Principal Responsibilities

• Accountable for overall design & integrity of set of Lending systems/apps to support specific large programmes or projects.
• Accountable for ensuring the design of banking product solutions are cost effective and maintained through the agile development lifecycle, managing the flow of the backlog of design activities.
• Accountable for ensuring the Lending products & services are supported by the right solutions to meet the customer needs.
• Accountable for ensuring the solution is aligned to the data and architecture principles in Group direction and application strategic roadmap.
• Works with the Architects and control functions to ensure that products and services are built to provide the required levels of availability, functional capability and non-functional capability, and systemic operational issues are addressed in the design lifecycle.
• Convert requirements into actionable banking product/service requirements that feed Technology solutions development & influence service direction.
• Responsible for ensuring solutions are aligned with Customer & Products Value-stream technology strategy, roadmap, group standards and policies.

In this role, you will:

 Have responsibility to expand high level architecture in to solutions that can be consumed by both IT and Business teams

• Act as the owner of the IT Solution design and primary point of contact for multiple delivery teams
• Be responsible for ensuring that detailed solution options adhere to the strategic Architecture direction for WPB IT
• Manage key relationships with stakeholders across IT, Business and UK Transformation teams.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

Highly organised with an effective written communication style

• Excellent analytical skills, the ability to look at the bigger picture
• Strong knowledge of the Lending products (Cards – Credit and Debit, Loans, Mortgages)
• Solid experience in IT and good understanding of technology and IT applications. Ability to demonstrate a detailed technical understanding of several technologies
• The ability to build relationships to influence decisions and ensure stakeholder advocacy, aligned to business goals and strategies.

Additionally, experience and certifications in the following areas would be preferable: Business Systems Analysis, API design, Cloud, SAFe, Agile/Lean.
