As our Senior Audit Manager you will lead reviews of the major Global Market business lines. You will support the Regional Head of MSS Audit and senior management team in providing independent, objective assurance & consulting services crafted to make valuable contributions to the organization’s risk management framework and underlying operations.

 

About Us

The Senior Audit Manager role is based within Markets Securities Services (“MSS”) team within Global Internal Audit (GIA) which provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning. The function comprises a number of Global teams and Regional Audit teams. The team focus their coverage over Global Markets - MSS activities covering a wide range of products (fixed income and balance sheet management, foreign exchange and equity).

What you may expect on day to day basis:

  • Own the preparation of individual audit plans to ensure that the scope, approach, resourcing and logistics of an audit are appropriately planned.
  • Lead and direct a team of diverse experienced staff and be able to empower, encourage and challenge them to provide very high quality and value-added results.
  • Continuously improve both audit skills/capabilities & subject matter knowledge of MSS businesses.
  • Maintain dialogue and communications with senior management on the major plans, projects and structural changes that will affect their business.
  • Ensure that HSBC senior management and partners fully comprehend the governance, risk, regulatory and internal control implications of major changes and advise them accordingly.
  • Engaging with and providing strategic advice to internal partners by applying knowledge of the business and the governance, risk and regulatory frameworks.
  • Stay abreast of internal and external changes in the risk environment and being able to assess their impact on the control environment within the Global Businesses and Functions. Provide a timely assessment to Executive Management.
  • Ability to work optimally with regulators, external auditors, consultants, Executive/Senior Management and other control functions such as Compliance, Risk Management and Finance, global audit units and governance/steering committees among others.
Requirements

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

 

Please apply if you have:

  • Relevant product knowledge including knowledge of Strong front-to-back Investment Banking knowledge in at least one asset class, credit risk analysis or management
  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Global Banking professional in the following areas: Credit Risk Management, Finance, Senior Business Manager or Internal Audit Senior Manager of Global Banking
  • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. Global Matrixed environment
  • Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. Auditor is desirable but not essential
  • Set and achieved ambitious short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
  • A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to connect with impact, ensuring sophisticated information is articulated in a substantial way to wide and multifaceted audiences
  • A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
  • Experience of crafting and deploying comprehensive business/operating plans which consistently deliver desired results
  • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and shown experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
