We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Assistant Vice President - Business Financial Crime Risk – Non Financial Risk

 

Principal responsibilities:

  • Supporting the oversight of Risk & Control Assessment (RCA) prioritization, implementation and design.  This involves working with Risk Stewards to define the Risk & Control Library, determining how the RTCL should be implemented for Wholesale, working with countries to implement the changes in HELIOS and driving enhanced data quality in HELIOS.
  • Assist in the facilitation of risk management discussions at key committees (RMM, Non-Financial Risk Board) by providing effective reporting and communication of risk and control trends, issues, emerging risks and initiatives. 
  • Oversight of reportable incidents across wholesale and coordination with regional teams, GB, GTRF and GLCM to execute read across activities (as required)
  • Risk Management SME – key point person for NFR and Risk Management queries for Wholesale.  This will involve liaising with the subject experts within the team covering GB, CMB and Resilience risk
  • Supporting Resilience Risk to understand and escalate third party, information security, SOX and end-to-end process management risks
  • Build and maintain effective engagement with Risk Owners, Risk Stewards, Control Owners and to fully embed the 3 Lines of Defence and use of the NFRO in a dynamic way.
  • Review the changes to the Risk profile with the Risk Owners and Risk Stewards and provide challenge ort advice as appropriate, after any material Trigger event

 

Requirements

  • Understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviours, processes and objectives;
  • Strong relationship management, interpersonal, communication skills; the ability to negotiate and influence across networks of matrixed stakeholders to manage stakeholders to one Global solution
  • Strong leadership, relationship management, influencing, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at senior levels; Executive Committees members within both GB and CMB, into DBX and support partners such as Finance and HR;
  • Understanding of GB and CMB’s proposition, the financial services landscape and competitor developments;
  • Highly collaborative, with a track record of building connectivity and co-creating across Global, Regional and Local geographical teams for the benefit of all.
  • Knowledge and experience of being flexible and adaptable in an environment of constantly changing priorities, challenging bureaucracy and staying true to the values and strategy of the Group;
  • Ensuring priority change is driven forward with pace, whilst setting and managing realistic expectations, which often means having hard conversations up front;
  • Outstanding relationship management and influencing skills, with knowledge on when and how to re-priorities, mitigate or escalate; and
  • Outstanding organizational and planning skills
  • Understanding of HSBC Group structures, values, behaviors, processes and objectives;

 

Due to the urgent hiring need, candidates with immediate right to work locally and no relocation need will be prioritised.

 

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
