Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our New Jersey, New Jersey office.

 

The Loan services manager oversees and ensures seamless coverage of the daily operations of the portfolio of loan deals including agented, syndicated and trading.  The manager must have experience in closing, servicing, primary, secondary, and 3rd party trading.  The manager will interact and ensure client servicing needs are met for various lines of business in HSBC. The manager ensures timely completion of work, including oversight of City Office teams.  Individual should be a self –starter and will work in accordance with agreed procedures and facility-specific documentation. 

 

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

 

  • Responsible for analyzing and understanding loan agreements and related documentation
  • Maximize client retention by delivering top tier client services that meets client expectations.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of Risk Free Rates (RFR) Market concepts and practices
  • Perform loan servicing for different types of loans, which includes Syndicated and Bi-Lateral Loans, collateral management, and escrow accounts
  • Construct deal structures in Loan IQ including amending existing deal structures
  • Execute and manage Loan Portfolio in multi-currency.
  • Review and drive break resolution identified in reconciliations, either for daily or month-end reporting purposes
  • Provide support to the Lender and Borrower by addressing all inquiries timely.
  • Manage shared team functions and team email boxes.
  • Communicate and support all inquiries from City Office team.
  • Train junior Loans Administration Analyst(s)
  • Trouble-shoot Loan IQ functional problems/issues
  • Other work includes projects and any remediation efforts, as assigned.

 

Decision-Making Responsibility:
 

  • Interpret terms of loans and translate build into the LIQ
  • Assess and assist with streamlining and cost saves of our processes.
  • Determine and drive solutions for gaps identified in performed functions, if any
  • Review and approve transactions and loan processing, including but not limited to loan funding
  • Ability to escalate and communicate to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements)
  • Each employee must be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.
  • Each employee must ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues.

  • Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM.
  • Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements)
    Each employee must maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Each employee must understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.

Requirements

Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

 

  • Experienced in a Loan servicing management role overseeing a team on shore and offshore.
  • Knowledge and understanding of closing, loan administration, loan assignment, and trading.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations including LSTA and SOX account controls.
  • Five plus years of experience with Loan IQ
  • Strong client relationship management skills, people development experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multi task, manage time and meet deadlines.
  • ClearPar technology experience is a plus
