We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Senior Discretionary Investment Manager working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Role Purpose
To support HSBC Wealth and Private Bank (WPB) advisors in their regions by providing expert knowledge of the Group’s discretionary services and Global Asset Management (UK) Limited (AMEU) wealth propositions to HSBC clients. To build strong connections with WPB advisors and their clients helping to retain and grow assets under management.
The Senior Discretionary Investment Manager will build strong relationships with WPB Sales management teams in designated regions and will provision feedback to DWM management. This role requires to support and promote discretionary services aligned to Global Standards, Asset Management Group (AMG) target operating model and HSBC’s behaviour and values.
This is an investment specialist role and no investment advice will be given.
In this role, you will:
- Develop relationships with and support HSBC WPB advisor regions to support the WM to promote discretionary services to prospective clients.
- Support HSBC WPB advisors in the ongoing servicing of their existing clients to deliver high retention rates.
- Support the development of HSBC WPB advisors and network in the understanding of HSBC discretionary services and identification of new opportunities.
- Manage costs in accordance with HSBC Asset Management policy.
- Be involved with extra areas of responsibility to support and enhance broader DWM business.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with RBWM sales management team; provide feedback to DWM management.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Professional qualifications to allow role to be carried out.
- CISI Diploma or Chartered Wealth Manager qualification required.
- Significant experience in similar role with Private Client Investment Advice and Management paper of CISI diploma (or CFA level 3) plus the regulatory module of either.
- IMC or CIM may be considered.
- Ability to demonstrate compliance with regulatory (especially FCC) requirements.
- Post qualification experience working at Senior Discretionary Investment Specialist level, managing private client relationships and advisor and network engagement.
- Experience of working regionally under central management approach is preferred.
- Evidence required of involvement in additional responsibilities of similar remit to this role.
