We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Wholesale Technology Payments, as a major Service Line reporting into Wholesale Technology, faces off to Commercial Banking, Global Banking and Markets and Retail Banking and Wealth Management.  Payments is the backbone of transaction banking, our Production Engineering team leverages Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practises to deliver & continuously improve production applications and systems. In our team, you’ll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems know-how to develop engineering solutions to technology operations problems. In partnership with software development we focus on enhancing existing systems, building reliable infrastructure, and reducing toil through automation. Our team is founded on critical technology skills, problem solving and excellent communication. Your contribution will be as a player/coach, bringing your technical experience and hands on expertise as well as your leadership skills.

The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role)
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to take on the role of Technical Service Management within the Wholesale IT Payments for supporting payment systems for the Bank in ASP region.

What you’ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities)
- Troubleshoot incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent closure of incidents and resolution of problems.
- Identify application patterns and analytics in support of better service level objectives.
- Design, build and deliver solutions to automate manual operational work.
- Promote automated software and product upgrades, change management, and release management solutions.
- Engage with development team throughout the life cycle to help develop software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes.
- Participate in the coverage as needed.

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in software engineering discipline.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Knowledgeable cross domain and able to operate a global level solving complex, mission critical problems.
- Demonstrable experience of distributed compute, Linux, Unix, oracle, WebSphere, MQ – mainframe exposure beneficial.
- Working knowledge of infrastructure, networks, load balancers, storage – cloud & containers highly beneficial.
- Experience with broad range of technologist tools e.g. Application Performance Monitoring, App Dynamics; Log Aggregation, Splunk; Automation, Puppet.
- Strong understanding of core Service Management disciplines.
- Excellent technical debugging and trouble shooting skills.
- Be familiar with one of the skillsets in Kubernetes/Kafka/Docker/Kiali/Hazelcast

What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications)
- In depth Payments knowledge would be an advantage
