About US

The HSBC US Marketing Team is looking for a Lead Marketing Manager for the Global Banking and Markets (GB&M) businesses. This role will own the development and execution of the messaging and content strategy for the GB&M US business segment. This is an exciting chance to define a marketing strategy for this key growing area of our business.

Our US Global Banking and Markets division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, HSBC GB&M handles projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, financial institutions, and the public sector to support our clients’ financial objectives and reach their business goals.

As the Lead Marketing Manager you will define, research, develop and deliver a fully integrated Global Banking and Markets marketing and content strategy. This position will work closely with a cross-functional team across marketing, the GB executive team, the COO team, Procurement, Regulatory Compliance and a network of agency and vendor partners. Your goal would be to ensure a cohesive go-to-market strategy that improves the HSBC brand and is closely aligned to business goals and priorities.

Your role requires a range of talents and activities to support the GB&M business segment goals such as owning the editorial/content calendar, writing content in house, briefing agency partners, building sales enablement tool and pitch materials in partnership with the business teams and much more. We’re looking for an individual that can roll up their sleeves to get the job done, from writing social copy to presenting the total marketing strategy to the GB leadership.

Your ultimate goal is to drive improvements in HSBC brand equity and contribute to GB&M brand perception, drive NTB customer growth, aid in revenue growth, and arm frontline banking staff with tools and resources to attract prospects.

What you might expect on a typical day:

  • Drive US market-level strategic marketing planning and execution for the US Global Banking segment.
  • Be the lead point of contact for Global Banking& Markets leadership teams
  • Collaborate with Group Marketing counterparts to develop and align GB marketing campaigns with global.

Please apply if you have:

  • Understanding of Investment Banking and Markets products, offerings, solutions, and competitive positioning.
  • Solid experience crafting and executing on a B2B marketing strategy.
  • Expertise in storytelling complex narratives and topics through clear and compelling presentations, written overviews, and other formats.
  • Strong project management, creative thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Experience building marketing plans, sales frameworks and presentations; building materials for senior leadership review and buy-in.
  • Building messaging and developing marketing assets that support sales enablement and drive demand for a wide suite of products in Global Banking US.
  • Keep up with financial services industry trends and content trends. Constantly educating oneself by reading various industry publications.
  • Familiarity with the B2B sales cycle and experience creating the type of content needed to nurture leads, drive adoption, and accelerate growth
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of key marketing trends and areas of innovation which influence the way we interact and engage with our external customers and our internal stakeholders and audience.
  • Experience of modern digital channel management technologies and strategies preferred. In particular: Digital marketing, Optimization, Customer contact, Website and App management.
  • Experience with digital and social marketing is highly desirable
  • Ability to conceptualize new and innovative ways to use digital-first strategies to evolve our B2B marketing to new paths.
  • Familiarity with FINRA regulatory requirements a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral – copywriting experience a plus.
  • Experience with leading sales enablement tactics, utilizing tools and content to equip frontline teams.
  • Highly collaborative, team-oriented, and strong consensus builder with confidence in interaction with senior stakeholders.
  • Has strong executive presence and gravitas with senior audiences.
  • Demonstrates advanced influence skills. Proven ability to influence within teams.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders at various seniority levels and in different locales, with the ability to drive alignment.
  • Demonstrated history in working with agency/creative partners shepherding ideas through the creative process.
  • Manage a broad range of agencies (e.g. creative, media and events) to ensure timely delivery of content.
  • Ability to pull together traditional media channels with social and digital channels in support a coherent and effective customer journey.
  • Experience using data and metrics tracking and reporting to inform content creation.
