Corporate Sales, a part of Markets and Securities Services Front Office, is looking to recruit a talented and driven individual in the area of Business Development that will enable onshore sales teams to dedicate more time delivering better service to clients and make it easier for customers to do business with HSBC. The candidate will be part of the Corporate Sales Business Development & Client Intelligence team.
The mandate of the Corporate Sales Business Development & Client Intelligence team is to support the development and implementation of Corporate Sales Strategy, providing insight, developing tools and driving initiatives to help grow the business and deliver measurable improvements in client service and sales performance. The purpose of the Corporate Sales Business Development & Client Intelligence team is to assist onshore sales teams with pre-sales and opportunity lifecycle support.
The candidate will be part of the Corporate Sales Business Development & Client Intelligence team supporting Front Office sales leadership through the provision of key client insights and services. The individual will be expected to work closely with the COO office, Corporate Sales regional/country heads and sales leads in onshore locations.
Delivery Responsibilities (Corporate Sales)
The role entails collaborating with the COO function and onshore sales teams in order to operate in a control framework whereby key decisions are made by the appropriate onshore team member. The role provides exposure to both front office sales teams and Global Markets products.
The responsibilities of the role will evolve with the expansion of our offshore capability and rollout of sales enablement tools driving business development and our growth agenda. This would include (but not limited to) building data science capabilities using Python, VBA, Tableau skills within the team and collaborating with the COO function and onshore sales teams in order to operate in a control framework whereby key decisions are made by the appropriate onshore team member.
Build actionable intelligence across the Corporate client base which will be used for business development and opportunity assessment and supports sales strategy
- Development of automated ETLs driving efficiency and enabling real time reporting.
- Development of innovative platforms and/or technology tools for real time MI and Analytics and its effective and efficient distribution to stakeholders globally adhering control of information requirements
- Incorporation of external market information including quantitative metrics (market share, wallet share) and qualitative metrics (service level analyses, client feedback) into the analytics function.
- Automation of pre-meeting packs for sales team members. Provide commentary on industry trends, benchmarking, P&L analysis, revenue stability, and products & volumes traded by the client.
- Research and collate new items of interest regarding corporates who have announced cross border activities such as fundraising or new overseas contracts, and also changes in credit appetite, trading history, or general impact by market events like the US China Trade war
- Executive level & sales practitioner reporting of client performance
- Support Corporate Sales regional heads on ad-hoc as well as BAU data and other ad-hoc requests
- Also working on new pilot projects requiring using of skills Python, VBA, & Tableau to create client insights and creating and new visualisation and distribution platform. This would offer opportunities to directly liaise and develop relationships with other product and platform teams.
- Overall 3 to 6 years of experience in Analytics, BI Reporting using advanced Python and/or VBA skills including dealing with large volumes of data or other automation projects
- Experience in international stakeholder engagement
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
- Manage deadlines, escalate issues promptly, and prioritize workload
- Flexibility to adapt to UK / US or HK hours
- Individuals with previous experience working in Financial Institutions or Markets related business supporting Business Development, strategy and Business Management, Client intelligence and / or any other COO function will be highly desirable
- Hands on use of Tableau, Alteryx, QlikView or any other visualization tool will be a plus.
- Understanding of Global Markets products, specifically FX spot, FX forwards, FX options, money market products, and interest rate swaps is preferable
- Enthusiastic, Eager to learn about business, its challenges, constraints,
