Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We have multiple programmes working in agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains, we are currently seeking an experienced Cloud Security SME (Architect) to join HSBC Technology.
What you will be doing;
Working within our growing Architecture team, you will be accountable for enterprise architecture, solution design, adherence to group architecture practices and within the IT security team.
Focussing on architecture, building and implementing security measures, validation procedures, design and documentation for mainly GCP Cloud Security, Application Security and Vulnerability Management.
Your primary areas of accountability will include:
- To consult on application level security practices, security design reviews (collaborating with Architects and being an approval party); performing security assurance reviews in-sprint and end-sprint
- Design and help implement API Security, Container Security, GCP Cloud Security, security implementation in CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and other Cloud services in addition to On-Prem solutions.
- To contribute to the Enterprise Architecture & Design Practice within Security, including ensuring that the target for architecture is implemented consistently across the function and respective DevOps teams
- Architect, build and implement security measures, validation procedures, programming and documentation (GCP Cloud Security, Application Security and Vulnerability Management
- Ensure Products, Projects and Programmes are secure by design and meet compliance requirements, group standards and policies.
- Help in the design an automated framework for Security Tool deployment and development and setup of a security alerts/ monitoring dashboard.
- Ensure compliance with internal audit and external regulators that any organisational changes are fit for purpose and meet their expectations
- Ensure adherence to the three lines of defence organisational model with clear lines of responsibility, accountability and segregation of duties.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enhances the delivery of a Cybersecurity strategy to secure the bank’s technology from the inside out, whilst maintaining, protecting and enhancing HSBC’s values, reputation and stakeholder values
What you will bring to the role;
To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:
ESSENTIAL
- Experienced in Cloud Security Architecture of both Public and Private Cloud platforms, including GCP Security Architecture Experience.
- Extensive experience in a technology role that incorporates information security; preferably solution architecture or security DevOps operations
- Expert-level knowledge and implementation experience of security principles covering Identity Management, Networks, Servers & Hosting, Virtualisation, Dockers/ Kubernetes, Applications, etc.
- Working knowledge in security systems, including IDAM, policy enforcement points, network protocols, network monitoring, firewalls, IDS, DDOS, DNS, authentication systems, log aggregation and management, content filtering.
DESIRABLE
- CISSP, CISM, CCP, SANS, GAIC certification
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or another relevant field.
- Working experience of a large complex organisation, ideally a FinTech.
This role will primarily be London based but some travel may be required.
